Spaceport Cutlery -- Classic Knives from the Space CoastSpaceport Cutlery Home

About Us

You've probably heard the old adage about a successful organization representing "more than the sum of its parts." Well, that's how it is with SpaceportCutlery.com. Our home on the web may be new, but our "parts", the people who make it all happen, bring a wealth of experience, skills and unique capabilities to the table. Meet the Spaceport Cutlery team.

Perry Miller

Since he was a kid (and some people claim he still acts like one), Perry has loved handling and using knives - beginning with the Case pocketknives and similar blades. But it wasn't long before his appreciation of precision-crafted quality expanded to encompass knives of all types. In recent years Perry has evolved this love of knives into a successful enterprise, traveling throughout the year to numerous knife shows to buy, trade and sell across the country. Known to eBay traders as the KnifeKid, and actively involved in a variety of other knife-related pursuits, Perry has cultivated numerous cutlery contacts both here and abroad. He applies his knowledge and those strong relationships to bring the best knives available to the pages of Spaceport Cutlery.com.  Currently Perry is the President of the National Knife Collectors Association and President of the National Knife Museum.  In addition, Perry is the "authorized" Authenticator for Randall Made Knives ™.

 Captain Chris Stanaback

Capt. Chris Stanaback is the largest (I mean that in every regard) "authorized" Randall knife dealer in the south. Since the late 1960's (man: He's old) he has been using Randall knives. He became an authorized Randall dealer in 1983, although he had been buying from the Randall shop much farther back than that.

Capt. Chris' expertise goes much deeper than Randall knives alone. His love for good quality custom and production folders goes back just as far as his love affair with the Randall knife. He has always been there for me and for Spaceport Cutlery in general. His enthusiasm for this hobby is much deeper than any other Randall freak out there.

The Captain and I often "posse-up" to discuss old and unusual Randall knives. His input over the years has helped me greatly to assist all of you in appraising and certifying Randall knives. He definitely "walks the walk" with regard to Randall knives.

Coming from the background of a hunting and fishing guide service, Capt. Chris lends a different spin to Spaceport Cutlery. That "hands on" knowledge of what not only "looks" like the right knife for a given task but what actually "is" the right one will benefit all of you.
The Captain and I set up at several shows per year together. It is always a mixed blessing (for both of us I'm sure). Although extremely busy with his own business, Sportsman's Services, Capt. Chris has graciously agreed to host a new "topic" on our website. His "Captain Chris' Corner" will offer an individual and unique perspective to Spaceport Cutlery's business...and, for those of you folks that do not know him, believe me: "unique individual" just doesn't quite fully describe the good Captain.

Seriously: It is my privilege to welcome Capt. Chris Stanaback into the "Spaceport" family. He has been more, much more than just another knife associate, he is my friend.
